Jeffrey R. Chambers, M.D., psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, is a 1986 graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, a 1990 graduate of the Duke University Medical Center’s psychiatry residency, and a 2007 graduate of the Psychoanalytic Education Center of the Carolinas (PECC).
Dr. Chambers worked in the Geriatric Evaluation and Treatment Clinic during his final year of residency, and following his core training in psychoanalysis, spent three years in the Child Psychoanalytic program within the PECC. He also spent a year on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry as an Instructor, and attending physician in the Pain Clinic, as well as two years on the inpatient psychiatry service at Durham Regional Hospital. He has always maintained part-time work with clinics in the Medicaid program, either in Virginia or North Carolina. This has given him a well-rounded experience with all ages, with a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.
